Abstract View PDF

Visually impaired people should be provided with assistive technologies which help them in navigation through indoor environments like shops, offices, malls, restaurants etc. which enable them to roam independently in indoor environments. This paper focuses on developing an indoor navigation for the visually impaired that is low cost and easy to install and use. An indoor GPS like environment is created using Infrared transmitters in buildings called “VI Friendly” buildings.
